1. What is SpeakED?

We believe in the power of live presentations and personal connections, which is why SpeakED exists. Find the perfect speaker for your college or organization for events, training, workshops – online.

 

SpeakED connects speakers and organizers through a secured platform. Our speakers come from an extensive range of backgrounds including, but not limited to industry experts, enthusiasts, activists, politicians, public figures, government officials, diplomats and academics.

 

Organizers: If you are a college or an organization looking for speakers for an event, you need to register as an “Organizer”. Search for topics of your interest and either contact the speaker of the topic or book the speaker on the event date and time. You can also pay the speaker online if the topic is setup for payments.

Speakers: If you are a speaker specialized in certain topics, and would like to be contacted by organizers, you may register as “Speaker”. You can then list your topics, upload images and prezos for the topic and set a fee for it. You may also setup the availability calendar accordingly. You may or may not decide to collect fees for your topic.

3. Can I create my profile for FREE?

Yes. You may create a profile as a speaker or organizer for FREE.

4. What is the fee for using SpeakED?

SpeakED is FREE to register and use. We charge a nominal 10% as service charge for each session booked (usage of the technology) which covers the online merchant gateway fees incurred.

5. How secure is the system?

We know security and privacy are important to you, which is why we’ve made it a priority to provide reliable security while giving you the freedom to control how much information you supply us.

SpeakED use secured HTTP protocol over SSL to encrypt and transmit data from your browser to the cloud servers.

SpeakED does not store or even has access to any payment-related information like Credit Card number or Online banking details. We rely on PayU money for all money transactions and PayU money is highly secured and trusted by the industry.

6. How can I change my profile picture?

Just click your current profile picture on the ‘My Profile’ screen. The system will give you an option to upload another image.

7. What is the payment mechanism in SpeakED?

We support all primary payment methods like credit/debit cards, online banking, UPI and wallets.

We rely on PayU money for all money transactions and PayU money is highly secured and trusted by the industry.

8. What is the difference between Academia and Professional speaker?

Academia speakers are experts in the topic but will have limited industry experience on that topic. Typical examples are speakers from educational institutions.

Professional / Industry speakers have years of working experience in the area of the topic and may have more practical experience dealing with the topic.

9. How does it help with social responsibility?

SpeakED exists with the belief that everyone with a knowledge to share should do so to benefit the community. This is of at most importance when it comes to education and students. One of the biggest hurdles for the student community today is the lack of industry exposure and that limits their ability to perform when they start their professional career.

 

SpeakED urges everyone in the industry to adopt this mission and prepare yourself as a speaker to help academia excel to the next level. Our future lies in the next generation of the students and we believe that SpeakED as a platform can make a difference.

10. Are all topics and subjects allowed on SpeakED?

Although we do not have an official list of topics that are not allowed, we ask our users to stay professional and inoffensive. Keep in mind that SpeakED is built to connect speakers with event organizers and a broad appeal will generally garner more speaking events. We ask our users to practice professional discretion when deciding what topics and subjects to include on their profile.

Please do not include the following topics and subjects:

  • Defame, libel, slander, impersonate, abuse, harass, threaten, invade privacy, or infringe the legal rights of another person.
  • Include photos or videos that contain excessive nudity or adult content.
  • Could be considered hate speech: directed at an individual or a group, and based on race, sex, creed, nationality, religion, or sexual orientation.
  • Promote illegal activity, inappropriate language or obscene and indecent profanity. Subjects that are generally considered lewd, obscene or pornographic: such as Nazi memorabilia, illicit drug use, or pornography.
11. Do I need to sign a long-term contract?

No. We require no contracts and strive to make it easy for you to come and go as you wish. We believe that our service should be simple. If your needs change, and you no longer need to use the site, you may delete your profile.

12. Do you work with high schools, charities or universities?

We work with schools, charities and universities across India. We aim to connect event organizers from the schools and charities with speakers from a range of industry-leading professionals, enthusiasts, activists, public figures and academics.

13. How do you ensure my privacy and protection of my data?

We know security and privacy are important to you, which is why we’ve made it a priority to provide reliable security while giving you the freedom to control how much information you supply us. We have built-in strong encryption to our site to keep your information safe.

When it comes to the information you share with us, we give you complete control over how much you share. We nevertheless suggest that you give the event organizers enough information to learn about you and contact you. Still ultimately you are in control over what you feature on your profile. 14. What is a Virtual Meeting?

Speaker and Organizer can connect through our in-built virtual meeting facility after Speaker approves a booking. SpeakED Virtual Meeting supports the Speaker to host a live online presentation/speech to a bigger audience or as desired by the Organizer.

1. How does a speaker benefit from SpeakED?

SpeakED provides necessary tools for a speaker to succeed. SpeakED also finds potential organizers who are looking for a speaker like you for their next event. SpeakED provides communication and payment processing through the platform and also acts as an Escrow for the fees.

As a speaker, the community rating makes a lot of difference to your career and it provides credibility for your profile.

2. Is there a fee when orgnaizer contacts me?

No. All communication between speaker and organizer is absolutely free.

3. What are the fee options while listing a topic?

4. As a speaker, can I share topic content with audience?

Yes. You can upload info-graphics, pictures, prezo slides and even video to a topic and organizers have access to it and all of this free of cost.

5. How will I know if someone has booked me for a topic?

You will be notified via email to the address provided in your profile. You can also login to SpeakED and access your profile to see all the bookings. You need to approve the booking after the review of dates and place.

6. Can I send promotional or unsolicited emails to organizers or agencies?

Not really. Keep in mind that we only allow targeted and limited outreach and not mass mailing multiple agencies in an unsolicited manner.

7. Do you guarantee that I will get speaking opportunities?

Though creating a SpeakED profile will not guarantee that you will instantly receive speaking opportunities, we’re building connections with dozens of event organizers each week so that they source their next speaker through the SpeakED community. It is a place where you can be easily found by the right audience you are trying to reach. The  best way to make the most of the website is to fill out your profile, also by adding social links and profile photo.

 

Here are some practical tips for presenting your profile in a way that will attract event organizers:

  • Clear and Professional Profile Photo: show off your credibility, identity, and branding.
  • Showcase Your Accomplishments: make sure you include keywords and tags that event organizers might search.
  • Fill Out ALL the Details on Your Profile: make sure to tell people who you are by giving a clear idea of your areas of expertise and showcasing a video of your speaking or presentation skills. Don’t let event organizers just click to the next profile to find what they are looking.
  • Keep Your Language Clear: use simple, easy to read language. Make sure your spelling and grammar are correct.
  • Link Up Your LinkedIn: giving event organizers even more info about the work you’ve done and your connections will increase the likelihood they will want to work with you.
  • Add Media: topics that do not just include videos but slides, Prezos or event media will clearly show off your skills and increase the number of speaking opportunities you receive.
8. Who are the organizers that will contact me?

Organizers can be any of the following:

  • companies looking for speakers or workshop trainers for their corporate events.
  • conference organizers seeking your expertise.
  • global events lining up presenters on business, medical, IT or any other topic.
  • schools and universities looking for volunteer speakers for their students.
  • any other event manager who wants to have someone with expertise and excellent speaking skills.
1. How does an organizer benefit from SpeakED?

As an organizer you can search for relevant topics and speakers for your next event. You have access to the speaker profile and community reviews and ratings to really assess the speaker abilities.

If it is a paid topic, then SpeakED acts like an escrow to protect your payment and ensures that the event is successful.

2. Can I find volunter speakers for our NGO or Institution?

You may find topics which have no fee associated. Those speakers might be willing to be a volunteer. Please message/book them to confirm their availability.

3. Who are your Speakers?

Our speakers come from a vast range of backgrounds including (but not limited to): industry experts, enthusiasts, activists, politicians, public figures, government officials, diplomats and academics. Our speakers are a broad group of high-achieving individuals, with the common goal to engage and inspire their audience.

1. Can I set the schedule for the week in advance as a speaker?

Yes. SpeakED provides an advanced calendaring feature for you to manage your time as a speaker better.

2. Can I limit the booking to specific days and/or time like only weekends?

Yes. You can mark your availability using the calendar feature.

3. What kind of messages am I allowed to send other users?

SpeakED is a service that aims to facilitate speakers and event organizers to connect, but not to sell products or promote individual businesses outside of the agreed forms of contact.

When messaging users, we only allow applications for and commenting or adding questions to open call for speakers, along with event-related contacts with organizers and agencies. Any other unsolicited or self-promotional message may be considered as spam, which is not tolerated on SpeakED.

If the recipient flags a speaker, organizer or agency’s message as potential spam, our team will investigate it and may suspend the sender for 10 days. Should they fail to comply afterwards, we reserve the right to remove their profile from SpeakED.
